HOW DO I GET THESE?

The AHMS Grand Slam Medal & Super Slam Halo are the ultimate awards for a season-long achievement. They must be earned and it is not our intention to make earning them easy. If it was easy, eveyone would have them.

GRAND SLAM MEDAL
As in previous seasons, the Grand Slam Medal is awarded for finishing four lead-up events in the series - one of which may be a virtual finish - plus an in-person finish at the Grand Finale (ASICS Waterfront Half Marathon).

SUPER SLAM HALO
With the Auckland Half Marathon Series expanding to seven events, we have the oppertunity to present a new challenge! The Super Slam Halo is a circular metal ring which fits around your grand slam medal for that extra elite performance marker. The halo is awarded for an in-person (no virtual finishes!) finish at all seven series events.

Important! Grand Slam Medals and Super Slam Halos are only awarded at the AHMS Grand Finale (ASICS Waterfront Half Marathon). You must record an in-person finish at the Grand Finale to qualify and collect either item.

Important! Medals and Halos are awarded irrespective of the distance completed. However, as in previous seasons, we *may* award slightly different medals, halos or ribbons for those earning their award over the 21.1km distance. Details of the final designs will be updated here and on social media channels in due course.

RULES

GRAND SLAM MEDAL
1 | Finish at least four of the six lead up events; Devonport, Millwater, Omaha, Hobsonville, Coatesville and Maraetai.
2 | No more than one of these finishes can be a "virtual" finish time.
3 | Finish in-person (not virtual) at the Grand Finale (Waterfront Half Marathon)

GRAND SLAM MEDAL + SUPER SLAM HALO
1| Finish ALL SEVEN series events in-person.
2| See Rule 1.

Important! You must check your name appears on the official qualification list, which is published here in the final weeks leading up to the Grand Finale

Grand Slam Qualification List 2026/27

A list of those qualified for a Grand Slam medal will be published here prior to the 2027 Waterfront Half Marathon.
Ensure your name is there because if you are not on the list, you will be going home empty handed.
