Stunning Shoe Science Auckland Half Marathon Series trophies will be awarded at the series Grand Finale for placegetters in a variety of categories and age groups. The actual awards presented will vary depending on the series distance; Half Marathon, Classic, Fun Run or Kids Dash. Check out the list below for details.
These awards will be presented at the end of the Awards Ceremony for the Waterfront Half Marathon. With double points on offer at the final race, make sure you don't go home early! Some placings and positions always change during the very last event!

Age Groups
> Your age group will be determined by your age on the day of Race One of the series (Devonport Half Marathon).
> Age groups for Half Marathon Series and Classic Series are MALE & FEMALE at ages; 19 & UNDER, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & OVER
> Age groups for Kids Dash Series are BOY & GIRL at ages; 7 & UNDER, 8 & OVER.
> To be eligible for the Kids Dash Series, the child must be aged UNDER 11 years on the day of Race One of the series (Devonport Half Marathon).
How Are Points Calculated?
No matter the distance, no matter the event ...
... you will earn some Series Points every time you finish!
Series points are awarded at each event in the series. Provided you record a finish time in the official event results, you will also gain some series points. The points calculation is based on where you finished relative to the winner in your gender & age group for that distance. The first placed athlete in each category receives 100 points. All subsequent finishers are awarded points as a percentage of the winner’s time on a descending logarithmic scale. That means that, no matter how long you take to finish, you will always earn some points in your season-long quest for greatness!Remember, you may receive series points in both your gender competition and your age group competition if those competitions exist. The points awarded will be different in each one because they will - most likely - be calculated relative to a different winning time.
Double Points At Waterfront
Double points are awarded at the Series Grand Finale. That means the overall winners at the Waterfront Half Marathon will receive 200 points instead of 100 … and so on down the line. So make sure you save your best til last!
Important! Series points are not awarded for virtual runs.
Important! Although you do not need to complete all five in-person events in the series to achieve an overall placing, it will obviously be difficult to win your category unless you do.
